Ceiling lights in the common hallways and wall-mounted fixtures near the front entrances and garages are maintained by the Association. Problems with these lights can be reported by submitting a work order in the resident portal.
The exterior lights and chandeliers above each front entrance are operated by solar sensors that turn the lights on at night and off during the day. Light fixtures in the common hallways stay on 24 hours a day.
Freestanding lights in the parking lots and along Westbend Drive are maintained by Duke Energy. Outages and dim or flickering lights should be reported to Duke Energy through their Street & Area Light Repair Map.
Most of the street lights in Hyde Park use high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamps, which cast a distinctive orange or pink light. Duke Energy is in the process of replacing these lamps with brighter and more efficient LED fixtures. There is no timetable for converting all of Hyde Park's street lights to LED.
Unit owners are responsible for maintaining light fixtures on their patios and decks.
